April Video a Day: Waybacks and Jim Lauderdale, It’s Alright Ma (I’m Only Bleeding)

Today is the big day at Merlefest, Saturday, when a bunch of the cool stuff happens. There hasn’t been anything more cool there on Saturdays the last handful of years than the Hillside Album Hour, where the Waybacks and a cast of dozens recreate a classic album in its entirety. Last year’s choice was the live “Before the Flood” album from Bob Dylan and the Band, from which this version of the Dylan classic comes. As enjoyable as Lauderdale’s delivery is on this fast paced take, watch the wings for the likes of John Cowan, Tara Nevins, and others looking on in awe.

Oh, and my guess for this year’s Album Hour? The Woodstock soundtrack album, all three LP’s worth. Until then:
