Album a Day for August: Green River Ordinance, Chasing Down the Wind

gro

“The greatest gift to give a man, is to give him grace to live again.”

Green River Ordinance don’t pull any punches with their faith on the very Mumford-esque “Better Love”, a song on the band’s recent EP Chasing Down the Wind, but it’s not really the focus of these songs.

Instead the writing concentrates on more typical guy-girl fare, from the sunny “Flying” to “It Ain’t Love”, a Counting Crows sounding tune with a fairly innocuous lyric:

“It ain’t love if it can’t break your heart.”

Throughout, the band’s enthusiasm and energy is hard to resist, a trait that has made them an impressive live act as well.
