Album A Day For August: Gogol Bordello, Pura Vida Conspiracy

I’m going to cheat a bit for today’s album review, since I’m on deadline for a couple other things. Today’s post comes as a sort of guest spot for a colleague of mine, Steve Terrell of the Santa Fe New Mexican newspaper ( and a fellow former contributor to No Depression). His “Tune-Up” column is always a great read, and Friday he covered a band whose new album was actually on my list of discs to cover in this month’s daily album review exercise anyway, so I’m going to just link to his excellent piece covering the album and the band.
