April Video a Day: New American Farmers, “Everywhere”

The band formerly known as Mars Arizona is now New American Farmers, and their first album under that name comes out on April 9th. Fittingly titled Brand New Day, it’s a sweet slice of Cosmic Americana that’ll have Gram Parsons fans and those who miss No Depression magazine getting all misty-eyed and nostalgic for the glory days of alt-country. Seriously, though, the band’s male/female vocal leads provide great harmonies atop a solid bed of mostly acoustic flavorings. They’re not afraid to delve into classic pop structures either; the album contains a cover of ELO‘s classic “Can’t Get You Out of My Head.” Here’s one of the original tunes from the album, “Everywhere”, and as a bonus the video for the ELO song, too.
