I first came across Drew Holcomb years ago when the same label that was promoting Siler’s Bald (a Columbia based Christian rock band that once included Laura Story as a member) sent me a couple of Drew’s albums at the time. I’ve followed his growing career ever since; he has become less of a Christian artist and more of a rootsy singer-songwriter over the years but there is still a basic spirituality that informs his work, not unlike that of Josh Ritter or Iron & Wine. Holcomb released his latest album, Good Light, about a month ago. This video clip is an acoustic version of a song from the new release, filmed in Holcomb’s living room. It’s a cozy looking room, and a nice song, too. There’s an official video out for the title track with a bunch more views, but I like the intimacy of this one.
