There are plenty of songs associated with the Christian observance of Easter, but for my experience none matches the beauty, simplicity, and sadness of the Good Friday ballad “Via Dolorosa” by Billy Sprague. It has been performed by countless singers over the years, but hearing it from Sprague himself is the most powerful statement for me. The video below was recorded on the street in Jerusalem, with an intro taped above the city.
