Video of the Week: Chatham County Line, “Crop Comes In”

North Carolina’s Chatham County Line have been producing bluegrass-infused Americana for a while now, and their latest effort, a CD/DVD combo called Sight & Sound, is out today on Yep Roc. While they use a pretty traditional bluegrass lineup, songs like this sound more like classic Big Pink era Band than anything by Bill Monroe or Ralph Stanley.

Sight & Sound includes 20 tracks drawing from all five albums of the band’s decade-long career. Nine songs appear on both the audio CD/LP and the DVD; four are exclusive to the DVD, while the CD/LP expands the collection with seven more tracks.

Video of the Week: Yellow Ostrich, “The Shakedown”

Barsuk Records artist Yellow Ostrich may have begun life as a  one man bedroom project  but its latest effort Strange Land finds it expanded to a much more rocking trio. Witness the relentless attack of the band’s latest trippy video for “The Shakedown” featuring simple yet effective black light effects.
