Band Of Horses Live at Village Tavern

Ever seen a live video claim it’s “like being there”? this clip from a Band Of Horses show in 2007 was just posted online, as the poster says, it appears he was sitting on the front edge of the stage. This being the Village Tavern in Mt. Pleasant, SC (BOH leader Ben Bridwell’s hometown, btw), there really isn’t much of a stage, though. I’m guessing the show was packed, the lighting on this is bad but the sound’s pretty good–enjoy.

New Twist on an Old Song

Check out this clip of South Carolina singer-songwriter Hannah Miller, from a show last December with her full band lineup The Misadventures. They’re covering Chris Isaak’s Wicked Game” and doing a fairly wicked job of it.

Hannah’s playing in town this Friday night at Red Bank United Methodist Church, with her fellow SC songwriter Ellie Laveer. See the Free Times or State Weekend section for specifics.

    New Reivers Shows This Summer

So I’m trying to figure out how I can teleport myself over to Austin, Texas this summer for the just announced new shows from one of my favorite bands during college, The Reivers. They did a reunion gig a few years back, and you can find several songs online from that performance–here’s a version of one of my favorite songs of theirs:

They’ll be playing the Nutty Brown Cafe in Austin on June 27th as The Reivers, but they’re also playing shows with an additional member, billing themselves as Right Or Happy.

Me, I’m not going to be able to make it to Austin, but i’m just glad to see such a great band still kicking after twenty-plus years.
